What to Expect:

All potential contestants will receive a Google Drive folder with a selection of monologues and vocal pieces to choose from as well as a video of the dance choreography in case they are selected for call backs. You may begin working on these right away if you like, but notifications of call backs will be completed by TBD.

If selected for a call back, you will be given an audition time slot. Call backs are in person for local talent & virtual for out of town talent and will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico TBD. There will be an optional in-person dance workshop TBD.

The call back weekend will be comprised of 3 parts:

1. Monologues and Vocal auditions and interviews: This will be your opportunity to meet with the adjudication panel individually to demonstrate your ability. Please be prepared to also answer a few questions about yourself and about why you want to pursue a career in Musical Theatre. You will also likely be given feedback on your acting monologue and may be asked to try it again with a different direction. This is to see how you implement feedback and does not mean that the panel did not like your initial approach. These appointments will be scheduled at various times throughout the weekend.

2. Dance Workshop: OPTIONAL: (August 31, 2022)  This will be your opportunity to learn the choreography for the dance portion of the audition. We understand that not everyone has had formal dance training, so come out and do your best. In addition, a video of the choreography will be provided to all applicants so they may prepare even if they cannot attend the workshop.

3. Dance Audition: September 1-2, by appointment: This will be a group audition in groups of 5-7 dancers. It will begin with a stretch / warm up and then each group will perform the learned choreography. These will be done virtually over video call for out of town applicants.

Scores out of 5 points will be given for each contestant for each of the 4 audition components: monologue, vocal audition, dance choreography, and interview per adjudicator. This constitutes a total of 20 possible points per adjudicator for a maximum of 80 possible points.  These points will be added to the scores (up to 10 points) given for initial self-tape submissions, for a maximum of 90 possible points. The 9 male and 9 female contestants with the highest scores will continue as the official cast of Broadway Bound LIVE Season 2. Scores will not follow contestants into the official season.
