What to Expect:

On January 6, 2022, all potential contestants will receive a Google Drive folder with a selection of monologues and vocal pieces to choose from in case they are selected for call backs. You may begin working on these right away if you like, but notifications of call backs will be completed by January 17, 2022.

If selected for a call back, you will be given an audition time slot. Call backs are in person and will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Kimo Theatre January 22 & 23. Please make arrangements to be in town for the entire weekend.

The call back weekend will be comprised of 3 parts:

1. Monologue and Vocal auditions and interviews: This will be your opportunity to meet with the judging panel individually to demonstrate your ability. Please be prepared to also answer a few questions about yourself and about why you want to pursue a career in Musical Theatre. You will also likely be given feedback on your acting monologue and may be asked to try it again with a different direction. This is to see how you implement feedback and does not mean that the panel did not like your initial approach. These appointments will be scheduled at various times throughout the weekend.

2. Dance Workshop: January 22 @ 5-8pm: This will be your opportunity to learn the choreography for the dance portion of the audition. We understand that not everyone has had formal dance training, so come out and do your best.

3. Dance Audition: January 23 @ 3-6pm: This will be a group audition in groups of 5-7 dancers. It will begin with a stretch / warm up and then each group will perform the learned choreography.

Scores out of 10 points will be given for each contestant per adjudicator. The adjudication panel will consist of 4 adjudicators and the audience will also count as a single adjudication vote. Possible contestants will also receive up to 2.5 points for completion of the interviews and up to 15 points for participation in the dance workshop. Interviews and dance workshop points are awarded based on full participation and being on time.  This constitutes a total of 67.50 possible points. These points will be added to the scores (up to 10 points) given for initial self-tape submissions, for a maximum of 77.50 possible points. The 9 male and 9 female contestants with the highest scores will continue as the official cast of Broadway Bound LIVE Season 2.

Call backs and all competition rounds will have a live audience, and contestants receive 2 complimentary audience tickets for call back events.  All competitive rounds are ticketed events and the audience vote comprises 7-12% of the overall score. Additional tickets may be purchased HERE.
